INFORMATION AND RATES:
The Appalachian Quilt Cabin and the other Historic Host accommodations are unique among the usual lodging in Ohio's Hocking Hills region.
Our Historic Hosts are all in restored vintage buildings. All profits from Guest lodging and Gift Shop sales go directly into supporting the buildings and to the rescue and restoration of another building and its history. This becomes "sustainable preservation through tourism," a common method in Britain and other places around the world where preserving and sharing history is valued. Our goal is to rescue and preserve at least one additional building and its history each year.
Currently, we are planning to move a vintage General Store to the Village. It will be restored, store counters and the missing shelves will be recreated, and we are already collecting typical artifacts and furnishings. Unusual Guest accommodations will be part of the restoration, and we hope to have it ready by the summer of 2010. We'll keep you posted!
At Fiddlestix Village, we emphasize our Appalachian heritage, so you'll find plenty of traditional arts and a can-do spirit!
RATES:
The Appalachian Quilt Cabin with two bedrooms, large bathroom and full kitchen is $125 plus tax per night for up to 4 people. Weeknights and Winter rates are discounted. There is a two-night minimum.
Other Historic Hosts can accommodate up to 10 people.
